This 140,000 gsf, seven-court facility may be seen as a starting point in the redevelopment of this quadrant in downtown White Pains. The Classical style is used to be establish a sense of continuity with the best of Federal courthouse architecture. A brick and limestone design uses materials in a traditional way, common to many of the finer, older buildings in downtown White Plains. The columns and portico clearly reads as the main entrance facing south. The "H"-shaped plan sets the judge chambers and jury rooms in the four corners. This plan idea is symbolically further celebrated at the skyline--here, four open loggias create a delicate silhouette.
