The site of this 23-story
office tower is located at the confluence of major pedestrian pathways
through Penn Center. The design solution emphasizes this pedestrian
movement by incorporating a three-story atrium space, which interconnects
the retail activities at the concourse, ground and second floor levels.
Pedestrian bridges provide for the possibility of contiguous floors
and horizontal movement between Four and Eight Penn Center. This elegantly
scaled, mirror glass curtainwall, creating a bay window along JFK Boulevard.
Eight Penn Center responds both to state-of-the-art energy considerations
and its surrounding urban context.
