Set on the edge of Atlanta's
new Centennial Olympic Park, this 318 room, all-suite atrium style hotel
is designed to take maximum advantage of its park setting and the dramatic
views of the city skyline to the south and east. The main facade, over
300 feet long, is set in the grand gentle curve overlooking the park
and International Boulevard. The exterior walls of this eight story
building are a composition of brick set in precast concrete panels forming
a rich polychromatic image.
A dramatic colonnade
anchors the base of the south facade, leading to a dining terrace, and
connecting the central atrium to the park. On both the east and west
facades, cornice elements animate the building's profile and cast shadows
establishing a pedestrian scale. Retail spaces on both Marietts and
Luckie Streets further serve to reinforce a pedestrian-friendly character.
All 318 rooms of the
hotel are suites comprising a bedroom facing the exterior, and a parlor
that overlooks the atrium. Also included are 10,000 swuare feet of banquet
and meeting space, a 150-seat restaurant, a 90-seat lobby bar, an exercise
facility with outdoor swimming pool, and below grade parking.
